Marian B. Tasco
Marian B. Tasco is a Democratic Councilwoman representing the Ninth District on the City Council of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She has served since 1988.[1]
She is the Majority Leader.
Ward leader
Tasco is the Ward Leader of the 50th Ward Democratic Executive Committee.[2]
Controversy
In 2012 she has caused controversy for abusing Philadelphia’s Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP). DROP allows city workers to collect salary and build up pension money during the last four years of their employment. So to game the system she will retire from her sixth term as councilwoman, collect $478,057, and then be sworn in on Monday to serve her seventh term[3]
